There is no need to install any drivers on your PC for GPRS version.

Where can I find TachoTerminal GPRS configuration software?
How to correctly insert the driver card to TachoTerminal GPRS?

Insert the card to the reader slot with the chip facing down.

When can I remove the card from TachoTerminal GPRS?

Data download takes about 1 minute and 20 seconds. The end of download is signalled by a short beep. Then, you can remove the card and the GSM modem sends information to the company server. That’s why do not disconnect the reader from power supply during that process.

What is the cost of sending data from the driver card?

The cost of data transfer through the GSM network depends on the mobile operator tariff. TachoTerminal GPRS supports all SIM cards. During the local transport within a single country the costs are insignificant, but in roaming the tariffs of individual operators can vary significantly. That’s why we have prepared the data transfer offer from all EU countries for one flat fee of PLN 0.50 (about 12 eurocents) for 30 KB (1 file). As a standard, TachoTerminal GPRS is equipped with a prepaid card which allows to send a few files.

What if I’m out of GSM range?

The most important thing is not do disconnect the reader from power supply, as the reader is trying to send the file again in a different location when moved. By means of a suitable configuration it is possible to limit the sending attempts on a given day and during specific time.

Does TachoTerminal GPRS read data from a digital tachograph?

No. Taking into account that the data from tachographs must be downloaded only 4 times a year, such functionality would only artificially increase the cost of the device itself and the cost of data transfer. In addition, the company card is required to download data from a digital tachograph. Giving company cards to all drivers is a significant and unnecessary expense. TachoTerminal PRO is used to download data from digital tachographs.

What is the driver notification? Do I need to send an SMS by myself?

Notification about infringements plus work schedule is one of the services which can be activated. SMS text messages are generated automatically and their content depends on the card content in a given moment. For example, the driver can receive the following message to his mobile: "Cost from 29 days - PLN 1750. After 1 hour of driving make a 45-min. break. You have 6 hours of driving left and at 22:45 at the latest start the 11-hour rest. Tomorrow start work at 7:45. The 45-hour weekly rest period to be started on Saturday at 5:00 at the latest."

Green and orange LEDs are lit continuously. What does that mean?

The device cannot establish a connection with the telephone network – the file is waiting to be sent (orange LED). You can remove the card from the reader now and possibly insert another one for downloading data. When the data download is completed, the reader makes another attempt to send the files stored in its memory (blue LED is flashing). For next sending attempts it is recommended to change the location to establish a connection with the GSM network. If successive attempts to send the file fail, the reader is probably incorrectly configured.

Audio signal sounds continuosly when I insert the card to the reader. What do I do?

The card has been incorrectly inserted to the reader. The card must be inserted to the reader slot with the chip facing down (chip facing the reader), so you can see the photo on the card when it is inserted.

What is the meaning of LED lights on the reader?

The LEDs are described in the reader manual. Download TT GPRS manual here. Green LED – power supply/ card reading; Orange LED – file is waiting to be sent; Blue LED – file transfer; Red LED – sending error (with blue LED flashing), reading error (with green LED flashing), saving error (with orange LED flashing)

Offset is the difference between local time and the UTC. The total offset must include offset from time zones and offset from summer time (daylight saving time). If you are driving in Germany, the time zone offset is 1 hour. During the daylight saving time add also 1 hour of the summer time offset to get the total offset. In that case the UTC will be 2 hours behind the local time in Poland.

What does UTC mean?

UTC (Universal Time Coordinated) is the time format used in the digital tachograph system. All activities, events and errors are recorded in the UTC. The UTC does not take into account local changes, e.g. summer/winter time. Remember that all manual entries in the digital tachograph must be made in the UTC.
